About Me
Marcus Thornton
DIY Bird Habitat Builder & Backyard Naturalist
I've spent the last fifteen years turning my suburban backyard into a thriving bird sanctuary, one birdhouse at a time. What started as a simple wren box has evolved into a passion for designing and building specialized housing for everything from purple martins to chickadees. I work with reclaimed wood, recycled materials, and the occasional 2x4 from the hardware store—because accessible bird conservation shouldn't require a workshop full of expensive tools. I'm a firm believer that anyone can build these projects, and I love sharing the mistakes I've made so others don't have to. When I'm not drilling entrance holes, you'll find me sketching designs, photographing visiting birds, or dragging scrap wood home for the next build.
